Walmart Celebrates Moms

2020 was rough. Especially for moms. After a year like that, there was no way a generic Hallmark card & a scented candle were gonna do the trick on Mother’s Day. Walmart had to go bigger. We wanted to celebrate moms by spotlighting the way they held their families down during 2020 with their strength, their ingenuity, and yes - their silliness. To do that, we needed to celebrate moms all month long. Because they deserve more than a day. They deserve a May.

Just like the rest of us, moms lived a lot of this year on social media. Our launch video shows real moms doing what they do best—raising kids while excelling at work and reaching milestones of their own—through content they created themselves.

The Moms’ List

Leading up to Mother’s Day on May 9th, we made it simple for families to find a gift any mom would love, with a shoppable, curated gift guide of the items real moms want and search for most, based on Pinterest search data.

Pinterest videos reinforced our message— moms deserve this—and drove to our curated gift lists.

And during the month-long celebration, Walmart put real moms in the spotlight on Walmart’s social channels and in-store TVs. From Walmart associates, to everyday shoppers, to special stories of extreme mom-ing, we used our platforms to celebrate all moms.
